Man dies in collision

Tragic: the scene of a fatal accident north of Korumburra this morning.

POLICE are investigating a single car collision in Korumburra that claimed the life of a man.
Investigators believe the Holden ute was headed north along the Korumburra-Warragul Road around 8.20am this morning when the vehicle left the road and crashed into a tree.
Emergency services promptly arrived at the scene but the man, who is yet to be identified, was found deceased.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and wish to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident.

Police closed the road while investigations and the clean-up continued.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or Sergeant Barry McCoy at the Wonthaggi Police Station on 5672 1222.

  1. The death of a young man on friday is proof enough the roads in and around korumburra are unsafe to all the public. How many more deaths and accidents will roadsafe victoria allow our roads before they fix the potholes and excessive gravel. I served this young man almost every day in one of the towns stores and his good nature and politeness will be greatly missed. R.I.P
