Fire affects Bair Street

Motorists are urged to avoid Bair Street in Leongatha for the next few hours while Ausnet Services conducts repairs to electrical lines.
An external junction box at McCartins Hotel caught fire shortly before 7pm, causing minimal damage.
The hotel and some surrounding buildings are without electricity. The hotel is also closed this evening.
Police and CFA were quickly on the scene. The street has been reopened to traffic but drive with caution.

Out of bounds: police have closed Leongatha’s Bair Street for a few hours after an electrical fire at McCartins Hotel.
