Club reaches senior milestone

KORUMBURRA Senior Citizens celebrated a milestone when the community group turned 55 last Wednesday.

President Joy Anderson said the club has provided members with a friendly environment to socialise and partake in numerous activities over the years.

“We had a wonderful day. We all met for a lunch and had raffles and prizes, and we also had live entertainment which was exciting,” Ms Anderson said.

“It is a great, friendly club. Anybody over the age of 55 can join and it only costs $5 a year.”

Fifty-two members came together at the Senior Citizens Hall on Victoria Street to celebrate.

“We have seen some changes and improvements in the club over the years,” Ms Anderson said.

“The hall has been expanded and we have kitchen facilities now which are fantastic. We host two lunches a month and we go on regular bus trips and activities together.”

The group also received a visit from the RACV trail bike riders on Monday who visited on their way from Cobram to Inverloch.

“We had 60 riders stop in for morning tea. It was very exciting for us and we really enjoyed their stop over,” Ms Anderson said.
