Interchange celebrates

INTERCHANGE Gippsland celebrated year’s end and Christmas with a family day out at the State Coal Mine in Wonthaggi on Saturday.

Around 300 people attended the event organised by Interchange, which is a service for children and young adults with disabilities, and their families.

“We’ve had great mine tours and great music,” manager of Wonthaggi Young Adult Service Heidi Gratton said.

“We’ve had lots of volunteers come today, which is always spectacular.”

Attendees enjoyed baked potatoes for lunch and visits from Elmo, Dora the Explorer and the big man himself.
