Cr Jim Fawcett is new mayor

SOUTH Gippsland Shire Council elected Cr Jim Fawcett mayor for the next 12 months, this afternoon.
Cr Fawcett of Leongatha won the role by one vote from incumbent Cr Kieran Kennedy of Venus Bay.
Cr Jeanette Harding of Toora was voted deputy mayor, winning the post from Cr Mohya Davies of Foster.
Former deputy mayor Cr Nigel Hutchinson-Brooks of Ruby did not seek re-nomination.
