Egg-cellent stuff
Painting the town: Kathryn Salmons has been on a mission to give Meeniyan something special.
JUST like the Easter Bunny himself/herself (for who really knows?), Kathryn Salmons has found herself hopping from one place to another in the lead up to the big event.
The artist and sign writer has been employed by the Meeniyan Chamber of Commerce to paint Easter Eggs and Easter Bunnies all over the town.
“This has drawn a really positive response so far and it’s been really good for me. The kids really love it and they whip through the main drag on the school bus pointing out the window,” she said.
“I’m a sign writer by trade and an artist by nature. I do portraits of people and animals, signage and 3D stuff too. I’m a creative sort of person.”
Kathryn has become well know throughout the region for spectacular mermaid twins painted on the outside of One Fish Furnishings at Fish Creek.
“Meeniyan is really buzzing at the moment. It’s a thriving metropolis, with lots of tourists whipping down to our beautiful beaches.”
