Farmer cheats injury
A MAN escaped injury after his tractor was written off during a collision with a truck at Mardan last Thursday.
The tractor was travelling east along Mardan Road and an oversize semi trailer was heading in the opposite direction.
The two vehicles collided on the Tarwin River Bridge about 3.30pm.
The tractor was flung into the railing of the bridge and sustained extensive damage.
One of the rear wheels was removed from the tractor, and the front axle was snapped off and came to rest in the river bed.
The tractor was transporting about one tonne of urea at the time.
The truck sustained minimal damage.
The road was blocked for three hours after the incident as authorities cleared the wreckage.
