GIPPSLAND KNIGHTS GET READY FOR 2010/11 VICTORIAN CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

The upcoming Victorian Champions League (VCL) Season will once again see Gippsland’s talented young footballers up against the best the rest of Victoria has to offer.
Following on from a successful 2009/10 the Knights are looking forward to assisting Gippsland’s most talented players develop their skills and further their ambitions.
The selection of team coaches is currently underway and, with the support of the FFV, coaches will be able to access opportunities for personal and professional development, work with players and teams fully committed to improving their skills and in many positions be paid for their time and dedication to the advancement of junior football in Gippsland.

For players there are significant benefits: ?you get to play with and against some of Victorias best players,
– have the chance to travel and play in other parts of the state, ?receive professional coaching from qualified coaching staff,
– make lots of new friends
– and have the chance to represent Country Victoria in national competitions.
In an interview with the chair of the Gippsland Knights Working Group he said, “The VCL is the major pathway to state and national representation and is fully endorsed by the Football Federation of Victoria. The exposure of our best coaches and players to state and national selectors makes this league the ideal development environment for both players and coaches.”
The Knights will be fielding teams in all junior age groups:
Under 13 Girls 1998 (or later)
Under 15 Girls 1996 and 1997
Under 17 Girls *1994 and 1995*
Under 13 Boys 1998 (or later)
Under 14 Boys 1997
Under 15 Boys 1996
Under 17 Boys 1994 and 1995
Trials will be held on the 8th, 13th, and 15th of September.
As always the Knights are working to establish partnerships with major and minor sponsors.
Given last year’s exposure with radio, television and newspaper coverage across the state there are significant opportunities for businesses to link themselves with the major junior state-wide competition and branding that will associate your business with health and fitness, junior sport development and a strong community profile.
