Helicopter rescue for beach injury
A LADY had to be rescued by helicopter after breaking her leg at an Inverloch beach yesterday (Monday).
Ambulance, CFA crews, police and the SES were all on scene at the Oaks to assist Heli Med 1 to land and transport the lady.
The Star believes that the lady broke her leg when she had fallen down a blow hole between the rocks.
The helicopter landed on the rocky outcrop west of the beach where crews transferred the lady to the air support unit. She was then flown to more accessible land and then, The Star believes, onto the Alfred Hospital.
More in next week’s Star.
