Lucky Escape
LOCH was rocked when a truck hurtled through a house early around 3.40am today.
The truck driver managed to veer the truck away from the service station before jumping from the cabin.
The driver has been placed into an induced coma and flown to The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne.
At the time, a couple in their twenties were asleep in the only room of the house that was left standing. They were uninjured and escape through a window. The woman is seven months pregnant.
A large hole is left in the front of the house and only the taillights of the truck can be seen. The truck cabin is now in what was once the back yard.
Investigators were told the truck was travelling down Clarence Street when the driver lost control, approaching the intersection at Victoria Street.
Police believe the driver pulled the wheel of the truck to the right before jumping from the cabin.
Victoria Street remains blocked while the clean up continues.
