Musical marvel at Mossvale

MUSIC for the People at Mossvale Park was another great success this year.

Around 1500 people managed to find a comfortable spot in the shade, sitting back to relax and enjoy the variety of music performed at the Berrys Creek venue on Sunday.

The Wonthaggi Citizen’s Band, South Gippsland Wind Orchestra and South Gippsland Shire Brass Band kicked off the day with fantastic performances, before the Victorian Concert Orchestra wowed the crowd with first class show.

For the first time, students from Leongatha and St Laurence’s primary schools joined the concert orchestra, singing a variety of songs.

The children and audience members enjoyed the new addition, which organisers hope will continue at future events.

The event would not have been possible without the help of volunteers, including the Leongatha Lions Club and the Leongatha and District Historical Society, who held tours around the park during the interludes.

Gippy Ride Share had a display stand at the event, promoting the new initiative supported by the South Gippsland Shire Council.
