The South Gippsland Highway at Meeniyan remains closed after a collision between a cattle truck and a car this morning.

A heavy haulage truck was removing the damaged cattle truck just 20 minutes ago.

Traffic is being diverted from the middle of Meeniyan via Geale Street.

No one was injured in the occasion, which occurred at the intersection of the highway and Meeniyan-Promontory Road about 11.45am. Both drivers were men.

Foster Police are investigating the incident and were joined at the scene by police from Leongatha and the Bass Coast Highway Patrol.

Meeniyan-Stony Creek CFA volunteers helped with traffic control.
