Council to restructure
SOUTH Gippsland Shire Council will undergo a restructure resulting in the proposed loss of 0.5 equivalent full time jobs.
While council proposes to make 13.5 positions redundant, 13 new positions are proposed to be created.
Up to four people could leave council, depending on the outcome of a three week consultation period.
All staff were told of the news at a meeting at Leongatha Memorial Hall at noon.
CEO Tim Tamlin said the proposed restructure would deliver cost savings that councillors could decide to pass on to the community as a rate reduction.
